
Pinheira beach is located in the municipality of Palhoça, state of Santa Catarina, southern Brazil. Located only 2 km away from the famous surf beach of Guarda do Embaú, 35 km from downtown of Palhoça city and 48 km from Florianópolis city, it’s part of the metropolitan region of Florianópolis.
Its natural beauty and lush landscapes are formed by rivers, beaches, islands and mountains covered by the Floresta Atlântica (Atlantic Forest) vegetation, offering spectacular views that attracts local and international tourists.
Beaches

Pinheira’s bay is divided by the Morro da Toca into Praia de Baixo, a fishing village community, and Praia de Cima, more residential. This beautiful cove with clear waters is completed with the Ponta das Andorinhas tip and Praia de Baixos rock cliff.

The neighborhood of Pinheira hosts one of the few beaches in the county sheltered from the southern winds. It has a wide range of inns, restaurants, bars, supermarkets and shops.
Praia do Sonho

Dream’s beach is the only beach in the region with two fronts to the sea, north and east, offering the opportunity of bathing in calm or rough waters. The beach offers boats trips to various islands in the region. The beach is quiet and ideal for those seeking peace and tranquility.
Ponta do Papagaio

The Papagaio tip is located between Praia da Pinheira at south and Praia do Sonho at north. The ’Tip of the Parrot’ is made up of two islands: Greater Ilha do Papagaio and Minor Ilha do Papagaio. The smaller one is no longer an island, for it is connected to the mainland by the peninsula that forms the praia da Ponta do Papagaio beach.
Parrot Island is located in the Franca Whale Environmental protected area and from July to September, Southern Franca Whales can be seen near the beach, along the coast from Florianopolis to Imbituba.
Fortress Araçatuba

The island of Papagaio has a trail with a privileged view of the Fortress of Nossa Senhora da Conceição, the rocky islet located in Araçatuba that was built by the Portuguese in 1742.
Islands
There are boat rentals along many beaches to visit the islands of: Grande Cardo, Largo, Três Irmãs (Three Sisters), Coral, Dos Moleque and Ilha de Araçatuba, where the Fortress of Our Lady of Conceição de Araçatuba dating back from the XVIII century.
